針對台南鐵路地下化引發爭議，有外界批評這是另一起「苗栗大埔事件」，民進黨發言人林俊憲表示，兩起事件本質上不同，大埔案是當地居民反對的工業區開發案，但台南地下鐵路工程是人民期待已久的公共建設，抗議民眾本身並不反對鐵路地下化，相信賴市長未來會持續和民眾溝通。
