「I’ll reach the big time!」千萬別以為這句話是指「很守時」

電音舞曲〈要發達〉紅遍大街小巷，不少業務人員把它當作自我激勵的戰歌。在英文中，「我要發達」最簡單直接的翻譯是「I want to succeed」，但老是講這句話未免太膩，不妨學學以下說法來作替換：

I’ll reach the big time!　我會變紅牌！
big time在字典裡的解釋是「一種職業中收入或地位最高的一級」。注意不要誤用為big name，big name是指「名人」，與big time的意思有所差異。
例：There’re many talented people in advertising, but few of them reach the big time.廣告業裡有很多才子，但當上大牌的沒幾個。

I can make a splash!　去驚豔全場！
splash原指「水潑濺的樣子或聲音」，make a splash則指「因為一件很成功的事而造成轟動」。
例：The newly launched smart phone will definitely make a splash in the market. 這款新推出的智慧型手機肯定會在市場上造成轟動。
