威力球得主捐兩百萬美元修學校屋頂

美國緬因州「盤谷爾市每日新聞」報導，日前獨得威力球史上最高額頭獎5.9億美元（約台幣177億元）的84歲寡婦葛洛莉亞‧麥肯錫，將獎金中的200萬美元（約台幣6000萬元）捐給家鄉的緬因高中修繕屋頂，這筆捐款比她在佛州買下的120萬美元（約台幣3600萬元）海濱別墅還要多。

麥肯錫當時選擇一次領取近3.71億美元獎金，扣稅後實得2.78億美元（約台幣83.4億元），為美國彩券史上最高額獨得獎金。她中獎前住在一間不起眼的鐵皮屋頂房屋內。
