美將領：2018年前4艘近岸戰艦輪調星國

美國海軍方面表示，目前部署在新加坡的1艘美國近岸戰艦，在2018年前將增加到4艘。這種戰艦在設計上是要在類似東南亞海域的近海作戰。

在中國大陸持續於南海展示武力且朝鮮半島緊張情勢依舊下，美國在新加坡「輪調部署」近岸戰艦。

美國第七艦隊第73特遣隊指揮官威廉斯（CharlesWilliams）少將說：「隨著我們將第七艦隊的軍艦輪調部署，很快就會有多達4艘近岸戰艦進駐新加坡。」

「在我們設想中，到2017年5月至2018年期間，新加坡此地會有4艘戰艦進駐．．．我認為，在2018年之前會實現，有4艘近岸戰艦將輪調部署到此地。」

威廉斯是在「沃斯堡」號（USS Fort Worth）近岸戰艦上對記者發表談話，這艘戰艦正在東南亞執行16個月部署任務。
