紐約客痛恨噪音 視為頭號公害

難怪大家都說紐約是從不睡覺的「不夜城」，全市充滿各式各樣的噪音，吵得人心神不寧，誰能闔眼安眠？

在紐約市，噪音無所不在。地鐵列車轟隆駛過並發出尖銳刺耳的煞車聲；汽車喇叭響個不停；飛機在低空呼嘯而過；叫得令人心煩的狗吠；還有令人難忍的人群喧嘩聲。八百多萬大蘋果居民一致認為，噪音是破壞生活品質的禍首。市政府的抗議噪音熱線，去年接到26萬起投訴。
