【更新】美記者斬首慘劇　因白宮拒付40億贖金

中東激進組織「伊斯蘭國」（IS）將美國記者佛里活生生斬首，引起全球激烈撻伐。據外媒消息指出，「伊斯蘭國」曾提出高達1.32億美元(約近台幣40億)贖金的交換條件，但遭美國拒絕，認為精英部隊能夠盡快拯救出佛里。
 
《紐約時報》報導，據佛里的家人與另一名人質表示，「伊斯蘭國」曾經要求高額贖金，但遭到拒絕。家屬批評歐洲國家願意花錢消災，而美國政府卻一意孤行。
 
報導指出，佛里並非唯一遭挾持人質，「伊斯蘭國」威脅將殺害其他3名美國公民。美國總統歐巴馬表示，決不會退縮，直到除去「伊斯蘭國」這個毒瘤為止。目前「伊斯蘭國」準備對華府施壓，將另名同樣遭俘擄的《時代》雜誌的自由撰稿記者砍頭。
 
除了3名美國公民以外，還有英國公民遭到俘虜，但英國政府也拒付贖金。其他歐洲國家如法國與西班牙，均付錢了事。過去「基地」組織藉由俘虜歐美人士，賺取大量贖金，「伊斯蘭國」似乎想複製其營利模式，採取同樣行動。（余浚安／綜合外電報導）
