據NBA官網指出，洛杉磯湖人隊與前灰熊隊的大前鋒Ed Davis達成共識，雙方簽下2年200萬的合約，其中包含第二年的球員選擇權。

多倫多暴龍隊在2010年選進這位年輕的大前鋒，希望能增加前場的厚度，而Davis在2010-11的菜鳥球季平均上場25分鐘，繳出7.7分與7.1個籃板，2012-13季中則被交易到曼菲斯灰熊。

去年Davis到了灰熊隊，靠著本身的天份與在暴龍隊時期的經驗努力爭取上場的時間，在2012-13年球季，Davis平均上場15分鐘，有5.7分與4.1個籃板。

湖人隊在2013-14年經歷了慘澹的賽季，目前正整處於戰力重整的階段，尤其在強力前鋒Pau Gasol與Chris Kaman分別轉戰公牛與拓荒者後，Davis在球隊將可獲得更多的上場機會。

湖人隊前些日子將Jordan Hill與Nick Young留下，又與休士頓火箭進行交易換來林書豪，薪資空間也已經所剩不多。
